Queridos amigos,
Por favor permítanme dar un paseo por mi memoria por un minuto… el año 2008 fue uno de los mejores tiempos, uno de los peores… después de años de trabajo y viaje constante, The Black Parade había ido y venido, y como banda My Chemical Romance había alcanzado las metas que nos habíamos trazado para el álbum. Los discos se vendieron, puertas fueron derribadas, enemigos trataron y perdieron… En verdad sentí que habíamos marcado una diferencia. Si alguna vez hubo un momento para pasar los créditos, retirarnos en lo más alto… fue ese. Pero aquí estamos, aun relativamente jóvenes y un futuro amplio parecía una bendición y una maldición cuando nos preguntábamos ‘¿y ahora qué demonios sigue?’ Una gran parte de mí estaba segura que ya no había más para la banda, y así, como siempre lo hace, la depresión se hizo presente.

He crecido y pasado la mayoría de mi adultez siendo parte de esta banda, la idea de que ese capítulo llegara a su fin fue algo muy difícil de aceptar. Sin embargo, ese noviembre recibí una llamada de Gerard que me sacó de ese estado. Hablamos sobre la banda, sobre porque la amábamos y odiábamos. Terminamos la conversación haciendo promesas de comunicarnos y planes para un nuevo disco. En los siguientes meses seguimos adelante. Las ideas comenzaron a tomar formas… habían conversaciones sobre cómo las canciones deberían sonar, el cambio de grabaciones para inspiración, y finalmente se reservaron vuelos para ir a nuestras casa de Los Ángeles adoptada para la pre-producción. 
Recordando esa llamada, lo que creo que queríamos decirnos era “Te extraño. Me gusta hacer música contigo y a pesar de la porquería que viene con ello, bueno y malo, aun quiero hacerlo.”
Cuando has estado en una banda por tanto tiempo como nosotros y has alcanzado un ‘nivel”’… a veces lo único que sabes hacer es crear discos. Tiendes a olvidar como hacer cosas simples. Como conectarte con tus amigos y hacer música. Sin reglas, sin expectativas. Ahora me doy cuenta que tal vez debimos habernos encerrado en un cuarto y hacer mucho ruido hasta estar inspirados y en conjunto decir algo en un disco. Eso no fue lo que pasó. En vez de eso, planeamos hacer un tipo específico de disco, escribimos canciones que se ajustaran a ese plan específico, y luego nos torturamos a nosotros mismos porque no sonaba correcto, orgánico o completo.

Después de casi un año de vencer a nosotros mismos hasta, terminamos estanterías esas canciones aciagos, y vuelto a conectar con Rob Cavallo y Doug McKean para salvar nuestra banda y hacer lo que se convertiría Danger Days.

Para matar el error, yo no creo que las canciones que escribió antes de los días de peligro son malas canciones por cualquier medio. De hecho, yo un poco que algunos de ellos están entre mis favoritos que he escrito. Muchos de ellos son un poco jodido rad .... que la casualidad de que se han creado en el lugar equivocado en el momento equivocado, y nosotros, como sus padres no estaban dispuestos a levantar todavía ... y así que se sentaron y esperó.

Se juntaba en mi iPod y cada pocos meses yo los visitaba y pensar "... maldita sea. Al principio me dio una mezcla de sentimientos ... Me gustaron las canciones pero no pude dejar de asociarlos con los tiempos duros de la que fueron creados. Se me hizo un poco incómodo. Pero a medida que pasaba el tiempo, empecé a disfrutar de ellos más y más, y fue capaz de mirar al pasado un poco más de cariño. Ellos eran mi secreto una lista de reproducción, sólo para mí. Como una banda desconocida que he descubierto y amado, y que pocos en el mundo había oído nunca.

Cuanto más tiempo pasaba, más me jugó con la fantasía de liberar esas canciones. ¿Qué pensaría la gente? ¿Les gustan tanto como lo hago ahora? ¿O era nuestro primer instinto de bloqueo a la basura, nunca se supo de él, la decisión correcta?

Recientemente tuvimos una reunión de la banda, terminamos hablando del pasado, y juntos hemos escuchado esas canciones que creamos hace casi 4 años. Hablamos de la forma en que la estas canciones nos hicieron sentir, cómo nos ha llevado a donde estamos ahora y cuál será el destino de esas canciones debe ser. ¿Cómo podemos pasar completamente si seguimos ocultar el pasado? Juntos hemos decidido que este capítulo no más en la historia de My Chemical Romance necesitaba ser encerrado.

Así que a partir de octubre se dará a conocer dos canciones al mes durante 5 meses. 10 canciones en total de las sesiones de Armas Convencionales que hicimos en 2009. Esperamos que disfruten de estas cápsulas del tiempo, y que puede arrojar luz un poco más sobre cómo y dónde Danger Days viene, y tal vez incluso donde el futuro del MCR podría ser la partida. Era el mejor de los tiempos, era el peor de los tiempos ... y ahora es finalmente el momento de levantar el velo sobre Armas Convencionales.
